about

A look back at the moments, the "pages" of raising children.
The title song from the CD "PAGES"

lyrics

PAGES

How well I remember, the pages of your past...

You were wrinkled and red, lying in bed,
With a brand new mother.
Kissing your toes, stealing your nose,
Snuggling under covers.
Your sleepy nod, how big is God?
Tickling your feet till you giggled.
Winnie the Pooh, trips to the zoo.
And, “what can I get for a nickel?”

Diapers and such, “love you this much”,
Catching the kiss you blew me.
Watching you sleep, pajamas with feet,
Oh, what you love did to me.
T-shirts and shorts, “I cross my heart”,
Laughing when you learned to crawl.
Wishes and hopes, swings on a rope,
I will never let you fall.

These are the Pages of your past.
Oh, how I thought it would last.

Remember...

Doctors and shots, don’t touch that it’s hot,
This will hurt me more than you.
Training wheels coming off, whispering soft,
That you love me too.
Walks after church, hugs after work,
Hearing your “pitter patter”.
Lunch in a sack, if I could go back,
I would do things better.

These are the Pages of your past.
Oh how I thought, I thought it would last.

Things like...

Your first date, staying up late,
Seemed like you never would get home.
Learning to drive, we’re lucky to be alive;
All at once you were so grown.
Kisses goodnight, under the porch light,
Pancakes, Sunday morning.
That bolt from above, “I think I’m in love.”
God, that came without warning.

Soon there’ll be somewhere else,
On pages yet to turn.
What I’ve received from you I could never earn.
But, what wouldn’t I give to return...

Return to...

Jacks in the Box, Tweety bird on your socks,
Let’s fly the kite on a windy day.
I hide, you seek, knowing you peek; I’ll still let you win at every game.

Playing baseball, measuring how tall,
These and just a thousand other memories,
I’ll never forget, to remember...

I remember the Pages...
Oh, I remember the Pages...
